Monterey Bay Village membership fees do not begin to cover the expenses associated with operating a Village. Additional funding sources include grants, bequests, fundraisers, and private donations.
A donation to Monterey Bay Village has far reaching effects. Consider these reasons to donate to Monterey Bay Village:
90% of seniors want to remain in their homes. Those who remain in their homes tend to be happier and healthier, thus reducing the use of Medicare and Medicaid. Village members are less reliant on family and friends because they have access to trusted referrals and volunteers.
Adult Children Benefit
Adult children of Village members have peace of mind knowing that their aging parents have a local contact for assistance. As a result, these family care-givers are more likely to be emotionally and physically healthier, and remain in the work force longer. Their time with Mom or Dad may include more quality family time and less time completing tasks and errands.
Non-emergency city services are utilized less as Village members are encouraged to call their Village for assistance rather than the fire department or police department.
States are aware that 10,000 baby boomers are turning 65 each day and the current level of senior services will be heavily challenged requiring creative ways to fill the gaps
It is estimated that the cost of care in a nursing home averages $80,000 per year. With the help of a Village, seniors with low care needs can remain in their homes much longer.
